Speed is a core element of the ACT approach. It’s not just about getting the same results faster; it is getting better results faster. As you use the ACT process to increase speed – we call it “productive” speed – you increase the pace, shorten decision cycles, avoid over-analysis and over-engineering, and accelerate the alignment and engagement of managers and employees at all levels in your organization. In our experience, the quicker you put your transformation in motion, the sooner you can build on early returns with refinements from the actual process of implementation.

For this reason, we typically compress the Launch Phase of our accelerated format into three to four months, as shown in the figure. That moves everything quickly to the real start of a transformation effort – the Execution Phase.
